What is a hybrid event? How does it work?

**[Confetti hybrid events](https://www.withconfetti.com/help-center/en/collections/6372688-hybrid-events)** combine **in-person** and **virtual** components to create an exciting, interactive experience that can be enjoyed by teams working in-office and at home. 🤝 Whether you're dialing in from your couch or from a conference room filled with coworkers, our friendly and engaging host will ensure that all your team members have a fun and fabulous time!

For in-office participants, we recommend using a shared projector screen or TV setup. Individuals can also choose to dial-in from their own computers. Either way, please make sure that the host is able to see all of the participants and vice versa.

Although all Confetti hybrid experiences come with remote, real-time **Zoom tech support**, it's important to note that A/V equipment and A/V setup is not included.

Can I request a specific host?

We are unable to guarantee certain hosts for Boom Box: 80s Retro Edition, as their booking is dependent on availability. Please drop a note in the 'special requests' section when booking, and we'll do our best to make it happen. Either way, we promise you'll have a wonderful experience with any of our vetted hosts!

Question 3

How does Boom Box work?

Boom Box: 80s Retro Edition has 5 rounds. For the first 4 write-in rounds, each team will discuss and record their answers on a digital answer sheet provided at the start of the game. For the final lightning round, participants will use a digital buzzer to buzz in and answer on behalf of their team.

For the hybrid option, there are only 4 write-in rounds, no buzz-in round.

Question 4

Do all participants need a computer or phone in a hybrid setting?

Accepted Answer

For in-office participants, we recommend using a shared projector screen or TV setup, so at least one computer is needed to connect to the Zoom! All participants will need a phone to ‘whisper’ to their teammates about their answers and team captains will use their phones to submit answers on behalf of their team.

What communication tool do you provide?

For teams that don’t have a shared communication tool, we provide a [web chat alternative](https://tlk.io/). On the day of the event, your host will create and distribute chat links to participants via [Google Sheets](https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1hFC0hOfa9OJCSdxUlBg46rhIWmdp6PGjofZLUSzg14U/edit#gid=0). No download required!

Please write in the 'shared communication tool' section that you'll need an alternative provided. In addition, let us know if your company has any firewall restrictions or if you are unable to access the links above.

Is this game work appropriate and international friendly?

Though the music is mostly based on American hits, the majority of songs and artists chosen are popular and recognizable to many groups! Rest assured, all music is workplace appropriate. 🤘

Question 7

Can I select the music for this? What genres are included?

Accepted Answer

The music for this experience has already been curated by our game experts, and covers a variety of genres from the 80s.

Question 8

Can we create team names?

Accepted Answer

Yes! If selecting ‘choose your teams’ for your team assignment, we provide a sign-up sheet to fill out your players’ names and team name ahead of time. If selecting ‘randomized’ as your team assignment, team names will be decided on the day of the event once teams are created!

What if fewer people show up than planned for?

If you would like a refund for participants who did not attend, please reach out to our support team (support@withconfetti.com) within 2 business days after your event to confirm your booking meets the criteria and we’ll refund you with Confetti Credits.

Question 10

How many winners are there? Can we award prizes?

Prizes are **not** included or required for Boom Box: 80s Retro Edition. You're welcome to source your own prizes, just keep us posted in 'special requests' so our hosts can announce it. There will be one winning team with between 3-5 players depending on final headcount.

Question 11

Can this event be recorded? Can a photo be taken?

📸 **Photos / screenshots:** Our hosts always do their best to catch a screenshot at the end of your event. If you would like a photo, feel free to remind your host at the start of your event.

📹 **Video recordings:** This event can be recorded. In order to ensure a recording is taken, **please request one from your host at the start of your event** - they’re happy to accommodate when asked!
